The Look: Mila Kunis in Alexander McQueen

Mila Kunis was my fashion favourite at last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The 27-year-old Black Swan nominee donned a flowing, floral Alexander McQueen gown.

The red and white strapless dress fell so beautifully, contributing to gorgeous, eye-catching look.

As an added bonus, Kunis told E! it's the most comfortable dress she's ever worn.

She kept the makeup soft, her hair simple and wavy, and accessorized with Chopard jewels.

Love love love Mila and this look.

The Look: January Jones in Carolina Herrera

January Jones has been sporting some questionable looks on the red carpet lately, but her ensemble at last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards gets a big thumbs up from me.

The 33-year-old Mad Men star wore a gorgeous black and gold lace Carolina Herrera gown with a mermaid cut that was nothing short of glamourous.

Her lovely updo contributed to the overall old-school Hollywood feel, finished off with soft pink lips.

I like that Ms. Jones often takes chances with her wardrobe choices, but I think this ensembles proves the value of classic elegance.

The Look: Christina Hendricks in L'Wren Scott

For a while there it seemed Christina Hendricks believed her breasts had to be the main attraction of any outfit she wore.

I'm so glad she showed up to last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards in a dress that was sexy and modern, but didn't show off her bosom to the point of distraction.

Her shimmering black L'Wren Scott gown featured long sleeves, a high slit, and black tied belt at the waist.

Her red hair and pale skin made for quite the contrasting colour scheme, topped off with smoky eye makeup.

Thoughts?

Monday deliciousness: Sam Page

Sam Page is hot and wet in the pages of the new issue of Italian Vanity Fair.

The 34-year-old actor has graced our TV screens on Greek, Mad Men and most recently Gossip Girl.

I was kind of sad when Serena dumped her professor-slash-love interest, played by Page, earlier this season.

Maybe they should've hit the showers to realize Sam's true hotness.

Happy Monday!

The Look: Sofia Vergara in Roberto Cavalli

Modern Family's Sofia Vergara was a show stopper at last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The actress donned a stunning blue Roberto Cavalli gown, showing off her famous hourglass figure.

She accessorized with Chopard jewels, only outshone by her gorgeous eyes and perfect smile.

I have such a huge crush on her!

The Look: Hailee Steinfeld in Prada

At 14-years-old, True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld has already become one of the most fun actresses to watch on the red carpet.

She hits it out of the park, fashion-wise, every time!

At last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards, the best supporting actress nominee donned a fun and vibrant Prada dress featuring pink, orange and black horizontal stripes.

It was a bold and youthful choice that suited the young star and the event perfectly!

She kept the makeup light, her hair loose, and accessorized with hot pink fingernails.

Love!

Henry Cavill is Superman

British actor Henry Cavill will play Superman in Zack Snyder's take on the superhero franchise, Warner Brothers announced yesterday.

The 27-year-old actor is best known for his role on the Tudors.

Also, he's super fine.

This will surely be a breakthrough role for Cavill, who was reportedly up for the Clark Kent part which went to Brandon Routh in 2006, as well as recent castings of Batman and James Bond.

Can't wait to see this man in spandex!

2011 SAG Award Winners

The cast of Modern Family

Natalie Portman and Colin Firth have all but confirmed their Oscar wins, taking home Screen Actors Guild Awards for their work in Black Swan and the King's Speech, respectively.

Voted on by fellow actors in the union, the King's Speech won the award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Motion Picture.

The Fighter costars Christian Bale and Melissa Leo took home awards for their supporting turns in the film.

On the TV side, Modern Family finally got its due, taking home the award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Betty White somehow squeaked an award for Hot In Cleveland, over Glee's Jane Lynch and Modern Family's Sofia Vergara among others. And Alec Baldwin took home an award for 30 Rock.

The cast of Boardwalk Empire took home the SAG Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series, while its star Steve Buscemi was singled out for his lead acting. Julianna Margulies also took home a trophy for her work on the Good Wife.

Jason Priestley and Luke Perry reunite for Goodnight for Justice

Attention fans of the original and amazing Beverly Hills 90210.

Show dreamboats Jason Priestley and Luke Perry have reunited to work together for the first time since their Peach Pit days, for the Hallmark Movie Channel production Goodnight for Justice.

Priestley directed, and Perry came up with the idea, executive produced and stars in the Western TV movie, in which he plays a circuit judge in 19th-century Wyoming Territory.

Have any questions? Good, because Saturday at 7 p.m. EST, an hour before the movie premieres, Jason and Luke will be doing a live chat directly with their fans at facebook.com/hallmarkmoviechannel.

Come on, surely you have questions for the former Brandon Walsh and Dylan McKay!

Click inside for an additional shot of Jason and Luke on set, and don't forget to ch-check out the live chat and movie on Saturday.

On the cover: Tom Ford for Interview

American fashion designer Tom Ford takes the February 2011 cover of Interview Magazine, dubbed the Men's Issue.

The 49-year-old designer claims gays make better designers (aren't we better at everything?), but that he looks at his models from a purely aesthetic place.

"It’s my business to make a woman or a man beautiful, and I’m working with a model in a fitting, and I’ve objectified them to the point that they become an object," he says. "They’re something that I’m modeling or shaping or sculpting, but I’m very aware that even though I make them physically beautiful, their soul and personality and character is somewhat detached from that."

As for his own sexuality, Ford says he's attracted to beautiful women, though not in the same way as men.

"I lust after beautiful women. First of all, I love women. But I lust after beautiful women in the way that I lust after a beautiful piece of sculpture—this will probably get me in trouble—or a beautiful car," he says. "I believe everyone’s on a sliding scale of sexuality. There are moments where I am sexually attracted to women. But it doesn’t overpower my first impulse; my lust for them is the same as my lust for beauty in all things. It’s not like I ever think, “Oh, my god, I’ve got to spread her legs and fuck her.”

The dashing Ford was photographed by Craig McLean for the Interview piece.

The Look: Diane Kruger in Gucci

Diane Kruger looked so damn gorgeous at the Gucci Rue Royale Reopening Party in Paris on Tuesday night.

The 34-year-old actress rocked the hell out of a tribal Gucci Spring 2011 dress.

The black silk organza backless dress also featured elaborate leather, PVC and metal fringe embroidery details.

A lesser fashionista would not have been able to pull this off. But this is definitely a case of Kruger wearing the dress, not letting the dress wear her. Y'knowhatimean?

She finished the fierce look with Gucci ‘Kelis’ black and gold platform sandals.

Score one for Oakville

Because my hometown of Oakville, Ont. gets a bad rap, and is most often in the news for utter ridiculousness, I thought I'd share this latest development because it is at the very least entertaining.

On Monday's episode of Ellen, Kerri Rodden-Kemp, originally from Kilbride, Nfld. and now living in Oakville, shared a ridiculous photo of her huge hair from the 80s.

"I was like 14, grade nine, school photo. Thoguht I was a honey," she said of her massive 80s hair.

Either high on life or something else, Rodden-Kemp couldn't stop from hopping all around the stage and yelping while talking to Ellen.

"I've never been so happy in my whole life!" she exclaimed.

I'm rather excited to report Rodden-Kemp works at the Alice Fazooli's five minutes from my family's house. And yes, I'm now somewhat tempted to go visit and order a drink from her.

"It was surreal. Like, I can't even talk. It was amazing. [Ellen] smelled beautiful. She's gorgeous. I couldn't control myself," Rodden-Kemp told the CBC after her appearance.

I certainly hope this news made the front page of the Oakville Beaver as well.

Canadian TV roundup!

There's been a ton of announcements in Canadian TV over the past week or so -- pickups, cancellations and awards -- it's been hard to keep up with it all.

Here's a quick look at what's going on in televised CanCon:

  • Global has begun production on Canada Sings!, a reality show that features workplace glee clubs competing to win money for charity. Featured glee clubs include those from Air Canada, Good Life Fitness, Hamilton Police, Scarborough general Hospital, the Keg and the Toronto Fire Department.

  • Logo has officially picked up the second season of MTV Canada original series 1 Girl 5 Gays, to air stateside beginning February 7.

  • CTV has cancelled cop drama the Bridge, which it had originally picked up for a second season. The network has committed, however, to developing new projects with producer Craig Bromell, actor Aaron Douglas and eOne.

  • Global and ABC will simulcast a new coproduction this summer called Combat Hospital. The 13-episode series is set in a hospital at Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan, following the lives of the hospital’s resident doctors and nurses from Canada, America, the UK and other allied countries.

  • Degrassi is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at the 22nd Annual Glaad Media Awards.

  • CTV has scheduled the season finale of Flashpoint to air in the high profile post-Superbowl timeslot. That's when FOX and Global will be airing a brand new much-hyped Glee, meaning most people will miss the season finale of Flashpoint.

  • CBS, meanwhile, has finally committed to airing new episodes of Flashpoint stateside come the summer. Yay CanCon!

Matte Babel joining ET Canada

Former MuchMusic VJ Matte Babel will join Entertainment Tonight Canada next week as the show's Hollywood correspondent.

After spending four years as Much VJ, Babel left the station and spent a year as a remote host for CP24 before moving to L.A. and assuming his new ET Canada post.

He'll debut on the entertainment magazine show on Tuesday February 1.

"I'm truly honoured to be joining the ET Canada team and to be a part of an entertainment brand that is so well respected and recognized worldwide," Babel said via press release. "I'm looking forward to working alongside our American counterparts in LA and continuing to bring Canadians the best in entertainment news."

Babel joins another former Much VJ at ET Canada - Rick Campanelli co-anchors the show.

Meanwhile, his former Much On Demand cohost Leah Miller continues as correspondent with CTV's eTalk.

Tell me more, James Franco

"Anybody who has made a home sex tape knows what feels best doesn’t always look best. I remember when I was 19 doing that, and then watching it back and thinking, ‘Oh, that looks horrible.’ So you have a lot of respect for those actors in pornography, because they are really not just doing it, they’re really selling it!”

2011 Oscar nominees

It was a lineup of the usual suspects when the 2011 Oscar nominations were announced this morning, with critical darling Black Swan taking on awards show favourite the Social Network for Best Picture.

With the category opened up to 10 nominees, there was a little room for everything: period drama the King's Speech, reality-defying Inception, based-on-a-true-story 127 Hours, western True Grit, boxing flick the Fighter, and Winter's Bone, a movie I know nothing about.

Slightly lighter fare, the Kids Are All Right also scored a Best Picture nod.

Meanwhile, my favourite movie ever, Toy Story 3, became the third animated film to ever be nominated for Best Picture (behind Up and Beauty & The Beast).

The Best Actor category is likely the most predictable, with probable winner Colin Firth (The King's Speech) taking on youngsters James Franco (127 Hours) and Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network). Jeff Bridges (True Grit) and Javier Bardem (Biutiful) round out the category.

The Best Actress trophy, meanwhile, is Natalie Portman's to lose. The Black Swan star likely sees her biggest competition from Annette Bening, nominated for the Kids Are All Right. Other nominees are Michelle Williams (Blue Valentine), Nicole Kidman (Rabbit Hole) and Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone).

The King's Speech is the most-nominated film this year, garnering 12 nods. True Grit follows close behind with 10, as does the Social Network with eight.

Also of note, Canada's Incendies, a film by Denis Villeneuve, is nominated for Best Foreign Language Film.

Click inside for a full list of Oscar nominees in major categories.

Awards will be handed out February 27.

2011 Oscar snubs

There's bound to be a few worthy names left off the Oscars' list each year.

Categories aren't split into drama and comedy like at the Golden Globes, so there's very limited opportunity to be acknowledged by the Academy.

Here are a few worthy contenders, who sadly missed the cut this year:

  • Though Michelle Williams received her second career Oscar nomination for Blue Valentine, her costar Ryan Gosling didn't have such luck. At least he's still got all our love and admiration.

  • Thanks to a surprise nomination for Mark Ruffalo in the Kids Are All Right, none of the Social Network's supporting actors were nominated. Andrew Garfield should have been shoo-in, and Armie Hammer's had buzz through awards season too. This category could have been so much prettier. At least we can be thankful that the early buzz around Justin Timberlake getting nominated was just fabricated.

  • Mark Wahlberg's name was absent from the Best Actor list, despite previous recognition for his role in the Fighter.

  • Despite receiving critical praise throughout awards season, Mila Kunis didn't get nominated for her supporting turn in Black Swan. I haven't seen the movie, but would've loved to see her nominated. To go from That 70s Show to Oscar nominee would be quite the accomplishment! She's young, so there's still time.

  • Julianne Moore failed to get nominated for the Kids Are All Right, though the Oscars recognized costar Annette Bening's performance. At least this is one last opportunity for Moore to play the fashion victim.

Avril Lavigne: What The Hell music video

Ch-check out the video for Avril Lavigne's new single What The Hell, off the Canadian singer's upcoming album Goodbye Lullaby.

This video's got everything: A kind of hot dude! An incredible amount of product placement (for Avril's own clothing and fragrance lines, as well as external electronics companies)! A taxicab chase! Cutoff jeans shorts! A totes hip vintage store! And a performance scene featuring the middle finger, fist-pumping and air-kicking!

Can you go wrong by watching this? Obviously not.

Goodbye Lullaby hits store March 8.

Leighton Meester on . . .

BLAIR WALDORF:
"Blair is.... I don't know what she is... I have to enter a completely foreign body to sympathize with Blair and her decisions. You know, Blair grew up very savvy, well-educated, and lonely. I think her mother is not the most supportive person and... Blair is very competitive and conniving, and it obviously comes, usually, from a very human place, but she makes decisions that I would never make."

HER 'COUNTRY STRONG' CHARACTER:
"She is so scared of people thinking of her as this ignorant, vapid, pretty face, and you know, I can totally understand where she's coming from because, especially if you come from Dallas Texas, you're a beauty queen - you don't play the guitar, you're writing seemingly meaningless pop songs. All that I can relate to, totally. It's sad and sweet at the same time."

FAMILY AND FRIENDS:
"I like to be judged by my family and friends because they know me. If they think I'm being an asshole I'd like them to tell me, but if I'm fat or something I'm like, 'Well, so? OK? Great!' It doesn't even matter; it's like, 'What if I am fat? Does it matter?'... I'm a grown woman and sometimes, I might be a little fat, you know! Am I alone there? Not really!

Twilight, Aniston, SATC2 claim Razzie noms

Still pissed you paid to see Sex & The City 2?

Well obviously you're an idiot for thinking it was worth $12 in the first place.

Still, you may take pleasure in knowing today it was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award -- or Razzie -- for worst picture of the year.

Joining SJP & Co. in the Worst Picture category are the Jennifer Aniston-Gerard Butler romcom the Bounty Hunter, the Last Airbender, Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Vampires Suck.

Indeed, tweens may love them, but vampires didn't fare so well when it came to the Razzies. Twilight's Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are both nominated for worst actor, while Kristen Stewart's got a nod for worst actress. Keep biting that lip, dear.

In fact, the worst actress category seems to have accurately pinpointed most of the actresses whose movies I refuse to see out of principle. Joining Stewart are Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus, Megan Fox and the entire cast of Sex & The City 2.

Though maybe accrurate, the Razzies aren't much for diversity. In the worst screen couple/worst screen ensemble category the nominees are Jennifer Aniston & Gerard Butler, Josh Brolin's Face and Megan Fox's Accent (Jonah Hex), and the entire casts of the Last Airbender, Sex & City 2 and Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Okay, I've got to ask. Does anyone know what the hell the Last Airbender is?!

Last Chance for Something Wicked Awesome

In December a group of friends and I saw the Second City's latest comedy revue Something Wicked Awesome This Way Comes, and in the holiday busyness, I failed to plug its hilarity.

Now going into its last week of shows, I figure it's better late than never, right?

I saw my first Second City show with my family for a Christmas outing, back when I was a young undergrad.

Oh how we laughed at the outlandish comedy that we knew was somehow based in truth. There were sex jokes and bad words and highly animated characters that appealed to each of our senses of humour.

Watching Something Wicked, however, I realized I may have now actually hit the Second City's key demographic. I wasn't just laughing because the situations were funny, but because I felt like I've lived (or easily could live) some of them.

Many sketches point to how our lives now so heavily revolve around technology. Perhaps my favourite saw the horror and awkwardness that occurs when two Facebook "friends" cross paths in real life and feel obligated to say hello.

Another sent up the smart-phone know-it-all, who doesn't let a question hang three seconds before consulting his iPhone to share the definitive answer.

Yet another exemplified how someone falling during even the most tragic of events -- a funeral -- can become funny the moment video of it is posted on YouTube.

Of course, the show also tackles the humour of relationships, with one sketch depicting young parents who have decided they just don't want their kids anymore and would prefer to reclaim their lives. Bizarrely relatable, that couple personified the selfish 20-somethings of today (I include myself here), who need to do a lot more living before attempting to be responsible for other people's lives.

Finally, this show expertly incorporates topical sketches that are hilarious and pointed. It opens with a sendup of the summer's G20 chaos, and later finds humour in the touchiness of two friends debating about the Middle East.

In another sketch, a Cabinet Minister oh so expertly (and transparently) deflects the media's questioning about the environment. And the show's explosive finale drew laughs as well sombre thought due to its topicality.

Along the way we get some frivolous treats, including a brilliant pop song spoof entitled 'Words,' and a depiction of what the club scene would look like if it was a video game.

A well-rounded, sharp and thoughtful revue of comedy, performed by an animated and on-point group of actors, the title Something Wicked Awesome This Way Comes doesn't lie.

Susan Sarandon: Got Milk? campaign

I've long had a big ol' crush on Susan Sarandon for being so fierce and amazing and beautiful and talented and better than most people in Hollywood.

So how fantastic that she's the latest celeb to participate in the Got Milk? campaign.

The 64-year-old actress says it was a "no brainer" to join the campaign.

“I drink light milk as often as I can,” she says. “I have it in other ways like drinking it in coffee and I love ice cream. I highly recommend light milk.”

Now when Susan Sarandon tells you to do something, you better well follow suit, mmkay?

Luckily I already drink milk on the daily, so I'm pretty sure Susan would be into me.

Click inside for Ms. Sarandon's Got Milk? TV spot.

Ryan Gosling gives good talk show

I'm a little late on this one, but it's definitely worth watching.

Ryan Gosling is quickly becoming this year's Gabourey Sidibe on the talk show circuit: a guest who could make a living based on such highly entertaining appearances.

First he rode an exercise bike in a onesie on Ellen, then last week he treated the audience at Jimmy Kimmel Live to a performance of You Always Hurt the Ones You Love, after teaching them a new dance move that's sure to become the hot new thing.

The Blue Valentine star also discussed how his recent foray into ballet classes has gone.

The video is annoyingly split into four parts, but what else do you have to do today besides watch Ryan Gosling on YouTube?

Click inside for the rest of the videos. (Dance move is in #2, song is #4).

Vintage Anderson Cooper

Big thanks to the internet for unearthing this fantastic photo of Anderson Cooper from the 90s.

Andy, who was born in 1967, is sporting a completely different shade of grey hair in this photo.

He's also rocking so many signature 90s styles, including that plaid shirt, feathered haircut, and pair of Timberlands.

He could totally pass as one of the gang on that vintage camping episode of 90210.

It's nice to see that some things never change -- even back then Mr. Cooper was reaching for his video camera.

Vintage Amy Poehler

Meanwhile, Jezebel discovered these fantastic photos from Amy Poehler's past, in which the Parks & Recreation star models as a candy striper.

Who wouldn't want the funny woman at their bedside, delivering flowers, cards and hopefully some laughs?

Oh the internet. So great at delivering unexpected treats from the past.

Pink: Fuckin' Perfect music video

"Pretty pretty please, don't you ever ever feel like you're less than fuckin' perfect."

Pink has released the video for her new single Fuckin' Perfect, and boy does it ever resemble an intense four-minute episode of Degrassi.

In the clip, Tina Majorina (of Veronica Mars, Napoleon Dynamite and Corinna Corinna fame) plays a youth dealing with low self-esteem through drugs, eating disorders and cutting.

The video takes the song in a dark direction I hadn't previously envisioned when listening to it.

But Pink's positive message still shines through.

The singer took to her website upon the video's release yesterday to discuss its imagery, which will surely be deemed controversial.

“I don’t support or encourage suicide or cutting," she wrote. "I support the kids out there that feel so desperate/numb/powerless, that feel unseen and unheard, and can’t see another way.. I want them to know I’m aware. I have been there. I see them. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

"I have a life inside of me, and I want her or him to know that I will accept him or her with open and loving and welcoming arms," the recently-pregnant singer continued. "And though I will prepare this little munchkin for a sometimes cruel world, I will also equip this kid to see all the beauty in it as well."

God dammit, I love that woman.

Fuckin' Perfect is the second single off Pink's 'Greatest Hits . . . So Far" album.

Jodie Sweetin signs up for marriage #3

Meth addict turned mom Jodie Sweetin received quite the birthday gift from her current partner Morty Coyle on Tuesday night - an engagement ring!

Coyle, a DJ, proposed to Sweetin in front of her birthday party guests at L.A.'s Kibitz Room.

"It was a complete surprise," Sweetin says. "We are just thrilled and I am in shock still!"

If that quote sounds familiar, it's probably because this will be 29-year-old Sweetin's third marriage.

Sweetin has a five-month-old daughter named Beatrix with Coyle, as well as a two-year-old daughter named Zoie with her second husband Cody Herpin. Somehow her first husband Shaun Holguin managed to avoid impregnating her.

But don't go thinking Sweetin's rushing into anything with Coyle.

"We are in no hurry as far as dates or anything like that," she says. "We want to wait until there's equality for everybody to get married."

Wait a minute. Did Jodie Sweetin just turn her third marriage into some sort of gay rights quest? I'm not sure I want that.

Coyle shines some added light onto the situation.

"Just because we weren't married doesn't mean she doesn't deserve a ring," he says.

Cool. Can't argue that we all like shiny things.

W Magazine: Best Performances portfolio

Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield are three of the beautiful actors featured in W Magazine's beautiful 'Best Performances' portfolio.

The magazine photographed the actors who rendered "the most remarkable moments in film" through "characters so real they hurt" over the past year.

Participants talked to the mag about their roles and movie inspirations.

“I found The Goonies very inspiring," Garfield reveals. "I identified with every character: Mikey, the leader; Mouth, the trickster; Data, the inventor; and Chunk, this lovely, beautiful, sad, misunderstood, slightly larger kid. The Goonies is boys needing to be boys on their path to manhood. It’s a classic.”

The stars were styled by Melanie Ward to be photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Click inside for more stunning celeb photos, including Natalie Portman, Jesse Eisenberg, Julianne Moore, Dakota Fanning, Javier Bardem, Michael Douglas, Mark Ruffalo, Colin Firth, Annette Bening and more.

Alex Mack heads to Hawaii!

In the most exciting casting news since Mayim Bialik joined the cast of the Big Bang Theory, the Secret World of Alex Mack's Larisa Oleynik has also found her way back to TV!

The now 29-year-old apparently-not-retired actress is joining the cast of Hawaii Five-0 later this season.

She'll play an ex-CIA analyst from Virginia who joins the action, going after the man who killed her fiance.

Oleynik’s role is recurring for the remainder of this season, with an option to become a series regular come Season 2.

Jodie Sweetin better get a phone call in to her agent, since it appears 90s child actresses are getting back in the game.

Kevin Smith casts Wayne Gretzky role

Kevin Smith has cast Kyle Gallner to play a young Wayne Gretzky in his upcoming hockey comedy film Hit Somebody.

Gallner's previous credits include Veronica Mars, Big Love, CSI: NY, and the 2010 remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Gallner will play the Great One as a young man first entering the NHL.

The character won't appear until 3/4 of the way through the movie, but Smith refers to Gretzky as the lynchpin of the film, whom the main character aspires to be.

CBC to ditch Jeopardy and Wheel?

Kirstine Stewart, the new head of CBC English-language services, plans to increase CanCon at the public broadcaster, which may include giving the boot to Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.

The two American game shows joined CBC's lineup in 2008, rather controversially, under Stewart's predecessor Richard Stursberg. He justified the inclusion of the popular American fare by pointing out it attracts the eyeballs that original Canadian content doesn't.

But Stewart says the ratings success of recent CBC offerings encourages her to schedule more Canadian programming.

“Now that the fix has happened, and we can make shows like Dragons’ Den or Battle of the Blades that are consistently making big numbers, I believe that we have the talent in the country now to make those kinds of shows,” she tells the Globe & Mail. “We are looking to replace [Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!], for sure.”

The move would reflect Stewart's overall approach to programming at the CBC, which she insists need not rest solely on audience ratings.

“Not everything is expressed in numbers. It’s a matter of what you do and how it is accepted [by audiences],” Stewart says. One small success can trigger another, “and it starts to build.”

What does this mean for Canadian Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune fans? Not a heck of a lot, as surely those programs still air on American networks we can access.

Say it ain't so, Reege!

Regis Philbin announced this morning that he will be leaving Live! With Regis and Kelly after the current season closes at the end of the summer.

"This will be my last year on this show," Reege, 79, said live on air. “There is a time that everything must come to an end for certain people on camera, especially certain old people."

Philbin’s been on air for the past 40 years, spending 28 of them with some incarnation of Live!

His cohost Kelly Ripa fought back tears when responding to the announcement.

"I think I can only speak for America and all of us here when I say that it has been a pleasure and a privilege and a dream come true, and I wish I could do something to make you change your mind," she said.

The Live! franchise will continue after Regis’ departure, with a new cohost in his chair.

It will be hard to imagine the morning show without him, however. Regis really has been consistently entertaining with his sweet sense of humour for years in the Live! setting.

Daytime TV sure will look different next year, with Oprah and Reege taking their daytime bows, and new entries from Anderson Cooper, Jenny McCarthy and Rosie O’Donnell.

Golden Globes 2011: the men

I spent a great deal of time yesterday recapping the looks of Hollywood's hottest women at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards.

And if you think I forgot about the fine men in attendance, boy are you wrong!

The brightest and most handsome stars of film and TV walked the red carpet looking sharper than ever!

I've said it once and I'll say it again: I love a man in a suit.

In that spirit, I invite you to click inside for 15 -- yes, 15! -- of the most delicious men at Sunday's Golden Globes.

Marilyn Denis on . .

HER NEW DAYTIME TALK SHOW:
"I'm not a scripted person. Bottom line, the show will be great information, better living, lifestyle ideas and having fun. My dad asked me what the message of the show would be and I told him it's about making people feel better about themselves. Just being a good girlfriend to people out there."

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 'THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW' AND 'CITYLINE':
"This will be a very fluid show. It's a talk show that's going to change every day. Sometimes we'll have something planned, sometimes some big celebrity will arrive, so we'll accommodate that person or those people. There are no days designated for certain things."

HER TYPICAL DAY:
"Up at 4 a.m., which I would do for the radio show anyway. Be at the radio station for 5:30 a.m. Finish the show at 9, drive to the studio, then hair and makeup. Go live at 10, wrap it up at 11. Talk to the audience as they're leaving. Then meetings and I'm outta there at 1 p.m., because I need to work out at 2 p.m. It's a full day."

WHERE SHE GETS HER ENERGY:
"You'd have to ask my dad. My mom, who has since passed away, said that when I was a baby, when she came into the room each morning, I was always up and ready to go."

WHETHER SHE USES SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES:
"No! [Laughs.] But once I got onto Facebook, my old professor from the University of Idaho was the first person to contact me. He was the person who got me into radio in the first place and he was the first person to contact me on Facebook. That is some magic."

Golden Globes Fashion: Hits!

There was no lack of variety on last night's Golden Globes red carpet!

From bold reds and greens to understated nude gowns, Hollywood did its best to dazzle when it came to fashion.

My top five picks of the night include a Modern Family bombshell, a Gossip Girl gone subdued, and Hollywood's biggest actress who dared to wear something other than black!

Golden Globes Fashion: the Inbetweeners

It took me quite a while to pick my favourite and not-so-favourite looks from last night's Golden Globes, because so many of the top stars donned looks that I just wasn't sure about.

The right dress in the wrong colour, a great gown with underwhelming hair. For whatever reason, a number of the stars had me almost loving their looks, but just falling short.

That includes a Mad woman, Black Swan beauty and Easy A actress.

How do you rate these looks?

Golden Globes Fashion: Misses!

Not for lack of trying, there were a number of Hollywood stars at last night's Golden Globes who quite simply missed the mark when it came to fashion.

A few fine women fell victim to gowns that were ill-fitting, poor colour choices, or simply just looked off.

Yes, that includes a Gleek, a former Ghost Whisperer, a supposed fashion expert, and - sigh - even my Blue Valentine.
