When was the last time we had a new episode of Gossip Girl? Seems like far too long.
To tide us over, The CW has released a promo for its next new episode called The Kids Stay In The Picture.
When the show finally returns on April 18, we're introduced to a new character named Cousin Charlie, and we'll witness the fallout from that Dan-Blair kiss from the last episode.
Unfortunately Vanessa Coffeemaker also appears in the episode. Talking on the phone, being boring and useless, etc. etc.
Are you excited for the return of Gossip Girl? Do you even care anymore?
Pilot season is upon us friends, and with it comes exciting casting news of shows that may be picked up for next season.
And by my estimation, NBC's got one of the most stacked pilots talent-wise, with an unnamed sitcom starring Christina Applegate, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph.
Executive produced by SNL's Lorne Michaels, the pilots looks at parenthood through the eyes of an acerbic working mother played by Applegate, and her stay-at-home husband played by just-cast Arnett.
Rudolph, meanwhile, will play Applegate’s coworker and bestie.
We're laughing already, right?
To be fair, this is television, so if it makes it to series the show could always go the way of Arnett's recent effort Running Wilde, which didn't make it to a full season.
The Milk Mustache Campaign debuted a new print ad featuring the Dunphy's of Modern Family after last night's episode of the comedy aired.
"Acting like a parent but talking like a peer might be Phil's philosophy, but when it comes to helping my kids get out of the nutrient gap, I need to be the grown-up," the ad reads. "So I pour one more serving of milk a day. It's something Phil likes to call 'pourenting.'"
Oh that Phil sure has a way with words.
Last year Modern Family's Sofia Vergara was featured in a Got Milk ad of her own with her son Manolo.
For what it's worth, I too like milk and dairy products in general, and highly recommend them in your diet.
CHRIS BROWN: "We don't have to talk ever again in my life . . . I just didn't want to make it more difficult for him professionally. What he did was a personal thing – it had nothing to do with his career. Saying he has to be a hundred feet away from me, he can't perform at awards shows – that definitely made it difficult for him."
LIFE POST-BROWN: "I put my guard up so hard. I didn't want people to see me cry. I didn't want people to feel bad for me. It was a very vulnerable time in my life, and I refused to let that be the image. I wanted them to see me as, 'I'm fine, I'm tough.' I put that up until it felt real."
S&M: "Being submissive in the bedroom is really fun. You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge of your shit. That's fun to me . . . I like to be spanked. Being tied up is fun. I like to keep it spontaneous. Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned – you gotta stop, get the whip from the drawer downstairs. I'd rather have him use his hands."
'Real Housewife' of New York Bethenny Frankel; Ben and Jessica Mulroney
I've never watched a full episode of The Real Housewives of Anything, but I sure do love when SNL and 30 Rock spoof the Bravo reality franchise.
I may soon take an interest, however, as reports say casting is underway to produce The Real Housewives of Toronto.
Without naming the city, Lark Productions, headed by former CTV programming exec Louise Clark, has confirmed it’s in the “early casting stages” for a series along the lines of the Real Housewives.
The National Post's Shinan Govani, however, has got all the gossip about who's been asked.
He says Ben Mulroney's wife Jessica is currently considering it, as is dermatologist Lisa Kellett.
He has more news, however, on those who have declined: fashionista Stacey Kimel, Suzanne Rogers (wife of the cable giant chair Edward), and columnist Karen von Hahn.
Meanwhile, he says those in casting nixed socialite Cleophee Eaton (related to the former retailer) as she might be "too classy."
And as we know by now, classiness and reality TV don't exactly mix.
I'm oddly thrilled by the possibility of this series. What do you think -- does Toronto have the right calibre of housewife to pull this off?
Emma Stone takes the May 2011 cover of Glamour, with the magazine giving her the title of 'The Cool Girl.'
The 22-year-old star of Easy A, who is currently shooting the new Spiderman, reveals she's a little fickle when it comes to men.
“Honestly, I cannot put a finger on it," she tells the mag of what she looks for in a man. "One guy could do something that I would find deplorable, and [with] another guy I’d find it charming . . . It depends on the person. The one thing that needs to be there is that indefinable spark of sorts. But I’m 22 years old . . . I have no idea what I’m talking about. [Laughs.]”
She also divulges one little detail about herself that makes me swoon swoon swoon:
"I really like grammar. And spelling. I was a spelling-bee kid. I’m hard-core about grammar.
So could she put up with a guy who's a bad speller?
"It’s tough. Really tough," Stone says. "The wrong 'you’re'? The wrong 'they’re'? Doesn’t that bug you? Because . . . ugh . . . I hate it."
You have made a true fan out of me with this interview, Ms. Stone. Kudos.

Lil Wayne takes the May 2011 cover of Interview Magazine, photographed by Bjarne Jonasson.
The 28-year-old rapper was interviewed by -- who else? -- Paris Hilton for the cover story.
(She had a little help from writer Dimitri Ehrlich).
Here's an excerpt in which Paris and Wayne (and Dmitri with the real questions) discuss their respective prison experiences:
EHRLICH: I was reading that during your last month in prison, they put you in solitary confinement for having an iPod or something like that. I've heard that being in solitary is the most torturous thing in the world. What was that like for you?
WAYNE: For me it was okay, because it just meant that I was alone with my thoughts. There were times when it was pretty tough to be by yourself, and to have no television, no sort of nothing. That was kind of tough. But I didn't have to be in there long. It was just a month. I was okay. I did fine.
EHRLICH: Can you still work out when you're in solitary? Do you get time in the yard?
WAYNE: Yeah, yeah. I got an hour in the yard every day, so I was able to do all those things.
HILTON: I had to do 24 nights in solitary. [Hilton was held in a separate cell as a safety precaution.]
WAYNE: Oh, so you know how it is.
HILTON: Yeah, I know how it is.
EHRLICH: Wayne, did anybody try to fight with you at all in prison? Or did everyone just kind of respect you?
WAYNE: You know, we are men and we argue about things. That's the aggression in us. So, yeah, I got into arguments. But there wasn't ever anything too bad.
HILTON: How happy are you to have your freedom now?
WAYNE: Words cannot explain.
HILTON: Yeah, I know how you feel. [laughs] It's the best feeling in the world when you come out.
So yeah. There's that.

As it turns out, Monday's second season finale of CBC sitcom 18 to Life was the series' last episode ever.
The show was missing from the list of shows the Ceeb renewed earlier this year, though the network made no official statement about its cancellation.
But a statement from show creators Karen Troubetzkoy and Derek Schreyer posted on its Facebook page last week confirmed the end for the Stacey Farber-Michael Seater comedy:
We want to tell you personally how much we've loved writing for you and being part of this crazy little show. Here we are: only two episodes left... Get em while they're hot! We're very proud of this season and the work of our talented cast -- who often startled us with their hilarious ad-libs and uncanny chemistry.
While it's true "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" we're not gone... yet. We hope to see you again next week. And then in lazy summer reruns, perhaps on DVD, and of course we'll always have Netflix...
The endearing show had a bit of a rocky history. Originally a coproduction with ABC, the American network pulled out before it went to series.
It had a shot to draw American audiences last summer on the CW, but was pulled due to low ratings before its first full season aired.
Still, it drew decent ratings and reviews on the CBC, despite its cancellation.
Jesus H. Christ, Rob Lowe shirtless on the cover of Vanity Fair May 2011 was quite possibly the best sight to wake up to this morning.
The 47-year-old actor (47!), who currently costars on Parks & Recreation, offers the magazine excerpts from his upcoming autobiography Stories I Only Tell My Friends.
That includes his musings about former costars and colleagues including Charlie Sheen, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze and Matt Dillon.
Despite the fine specimen we're staring at right now, Lowe reveals to the magazine he wasn't getting much action from the ladies pre-fame. “The cool girls in Malibu had no time for me,” he says. “I wasn’t a beach volleyball player, a surfer, or a quasi-burnout.”
Dita Von Teese looked positively flawless in blue as she arrived at a Hollywood party on Saturday.
The 38-year-old burlesque artist donned a stunning blue sequined Jenny Packham Fall 2010 gown, featuring cap sleeves and large paillettes along the hem.
The glamourous gown fits to perfection, and its colour looks beautiful with her pale skintone, black hair and red lips providing ample contrast.
This is the first time I’ve featured Ms. Von Teese on the blog – and what a debut she makes!
Matthew McConaughey is fully clothed, and yet still strikingly handsome, on the April 2011 cover of Esquire.
Donning a Dolce & Gabbana suit for the cover, the 41-year-old Lincoln Lawyer star tells the mag we only know a part of the true Matthew McConaughey.
“Do I think the image of me is a true picture of who I am? No, it’s incomplete,” he says. “But things about me that are out there — I’m not going to say they’re false. Am I a fun-loving guy, man? Who likes running around in the summer with his shirt off, man? Am I a guy who likes to hang out with his friends, and party and go to concerts and football games with his friends? Well, yeah! Yes, I am. Always have been. Always hopefully will be. You know?”
I do know, Matthew. And I’m glad you’ve let us experience at least a part of the real you. Specifically the running around without your shirt on part. That part’s great.
More photos from Mr. McConaughey’s Esquire shoot inside, and check out the mag’s website for more of his cover story.
So I stayed in and watched Due Date on Saturday night, which turned out to be a pretty good use of 95 minutes of my life.
The comedy stars Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis as a severely mismatched duo who forge an unlikely friendship when forced to drive cross country with each other.
Peter Highman (Downey Jr.) is an up-tight businessman on his way from Atlanta to L.A. to witness the birth of his first child. Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis) is a flighty and eccentric acting hopeful, on his way to Hollywood with his recently-deceased father's ashes in tow.
When a series of unfortunate events gets both men kicked off a plane and onto the no-fly list, they're forced to make the trek to L.A. together via rental car for one hell of a road trip.
The clash and chemistry between our main characters is what makes the movie. Both have pretty despicable moments throughout the film, but before you can fully hate them they pull out a touching revelation or goofy eccentricity.
Before you know it, their bromance is flourishing, and in addition to Peter making it home in time to see the birth of his child, you want to see the duo come out of their journey as friends.
I'm not sure I've ever been a huge fan of either actor, but here they perform well and it's a good thing. Save for brief stops along the way featuring Juliette Lewis and Jamie Foxx, Downey Jr. and Galifianakis are the film.
Check it out for yourself - Due Date is available on Blu-ray combo pack, DVD, and on demand now.
Production is underway on the 11th season of Degrassi, which will return to a daily format on MuchMusic this summer for the second year in a row.
Keeping you glued to your TV screens in between pool parties and beach days (that's what people do in the summer, right?), the season will kick off with Monday - to Friday episodes for seven weeks.
Helping move things along will be three new characters:
Joining Degrassi this season is the charming heartthrob Jake Martin (Justin Kelly), who tells it like it is and tries not to break too many hearts in the process. New student Katie Matlin (Chloe Rose) is a fresh-faced athlete who plays hard on the field but is soft when it comes to matters of the heart. Fun and energetic Imogen Moreno (Cristine Prosperi) is anything but boring, but she constantly fears her one, big secret could be exposed to the entire school.
I actually watched my first ep of Degrassi in a long while the other night. Holly J was ignoring a mystery illness, which caused her to pee herself while presenting a project to a mayoral candidate. The mayoral candidate, in turn, offered Holly J a job.
Everything I thought I knew about impressing/not grossing people out has now been thrown into question.
Neil Young won Artist of the Year, while Arcade Fire walked away with a field best four awards when the Junos were handed out in Toronto this weekend.
Arcade Fire took album, group and songwriter of the year during tonight's broadcast ceremony, in addition to Alternative Album of the Year, which was presented at a non-televised ceremony last night.
Young also won Adult Alternative Album of the Year last night, and was honoured for his philanthropic work during tonight's broadcast.
Though the broadcast's host Drake led this year's race with six nods, he went home empty-handed. I read some very positive tweets about his hosting job though, so he can feel very good about that.
Justin Bieber, meanwhile, won his first career Junos, taking home the Fan Choice and Pop Album of the Year trophies. Young Biebs was a no-show at the ceremony, however. I'm guessing no one told him Esperanza Spalding was not nominated for any Junos.
Meaghan Smith was named New Artist of the Year tonight, while Said The Whale won New Group of the Year last night.
Meanwhile, Young Artists for Haiti's 'Wavin' Flag,' took home Single of the Year, which pretty much means every Canadian artist won a Juno tonight, right?
And the pride of Timmins, Ont., Shania Twain was on-hand to be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
BEING ASKED TO HOST TOMORROW NIGHT'S JUNO AWARDS BROADCAST: “I remember when I was approached to do it, and I started asking myself, what records are we breaking here? If I actually do this, what does it mean to be the youngest host of the Junos ever, forty Juno Awards, to be the youngest is incredible, to be a hip hop artist and hosting the Junos is also incredible.”
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE JUNOS: “I’m a very proud Canadian and to me, this award show means more than any other award show. It’s a very important night for me . . . You’ve got all these people, you’ve got legends, you’ve got artists and I think it is very important for not only people on the outside of this country, but for Canadians to realize how well Canadians are doing.”
BEING A CANADIAN HIP HOP ARTIST: “To be at the forefront of all Canadian hip hop is truly an honour. You know it’s an honour to go sell a million records in the U.S. because when I do it, I’m doing it for my country. I’m not just thinking about myself I’m thinking about how everyone back home can be proud."

With the grand number of child stars that exist nowadays, I sometimes sit and wonder what will become of them all.
If any of them are lucky enough to follow in Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's illustrious footsteps, they have a ton to look forward to.
Namely, they'll wear hats and stand on stilts for photos in Vogue Magazine.
Yup, the former Full House stars and avid pizza lovers show off their many talents in a photo spread for the mag's April 2011 issue.
And I guess among those talents, they count their successful fashion line called The Row.
"I am so proud of what we did," Ashley says about leaving her acting days behind. "We made kids smile every day. But we had done the most we could do."
"There was a fear, but also, an exhale," Mary-Kate adds.
As for their future now that they've successfully transitioned into the fashion world, they've got a few ideas.
"I want to run a studio," Ashley says. "I'd probably like to manage other people on their brands. It could be an artist. A young designer. It could be an existing brand."
"The thing about us is we think big. Huge," Mary-Kate pipes in.
I've long had a monster crush on SNL's Seth Meyers, that I'm not sure I've ever fully articulated.
Even back when everyone was all "Oh Jimmy Fallon's so adorable and funny," inside I was all "Yeah, but Seth Meyers is even more adorable and more funny."
And now suddenly I feel vindicated, because y'know who else is a Seth Meyers fan?
Martha Stewart.
Yup, that's right. She's featuring Seth on a new primetime special Saturday night on Hallmark Channel called Men Who Make Us Laugh.
And y'know what makes me laugh? The preview, above.
Watching Seth Meyers grab an egg from Martha Stewart's hen is funny, as is the sight of the duo casually conversing while on horseback.
But funnier than all of that is Seth's inability to keep his composure when the two sit down for an interview.
It's unclear what exactly he's in hysterics about, but I'm guessing it's that fact that he just pulled an egg from Martha Stewart's hen, then took a leisurely ride on a horse alongside the domestic diva.
Emmy Rossum looked gorgeous in green at the Metropolitan Opera's premiere of Le Comte Ory in New York City last night.
The 24-year-old Shameless star donned a beautifully draped YSL gown, accented at the waist with a beaded purple belt that matches her suede YSL peep-toe pumps.
Such a lovely look that has me thinking of spring, finished off with bright red lips and gorgeous waves.
"I trust this is your new favourite song," Darran tweeted at me on Saturday, with a link to Rebecca Black's 'Friday' vid.
On Tuesday I received a text from Lily: "I assume you've seen the Friday video ... but if not you have to YouTube it now."
And then yesterday Devon sends me a message that says "I'm surprised you didn't blog about that stupid Friday song. I can see us dancing to that."
The truth is, I watched Rebecca Black's 'Friday' video for the first time one week ago, which was days after the rest of the world had caught on.
I resisted because I like to be so cool that I don't even care what everyone else is watching on YouTube. Until a few days later.
And now that I've given it a chance, I will admit, I watch it everyday and totally love it.
And here's why.
1. The great seat debate of 2011. 2. It's relatable -- everyone really is looking forward to the weekend! 3. "Fun fun fun fun." 4. I've always wanted to be in a car in front of a green screen, so I could picture myself driving with the help of special effects. 5. The stellar graphics. 6. "We we we so excited . . . we so excited." 7. "Sunday comes afterwe-e-e-eerds." 8. Random rapper shows up to save the day. 9. That party under the tree looks pretty bomb. In a completely sober, smiling and head-bopping kind of way. 10. How awful this song is. 11. How great this video is. 12. How spectacular Rebecca Black is, in a distinctly uncharismatic kind of way.
I mean, truth: if I was 13, and part of this video, I'd be pretty damn proud of myself.
And hey, today is coincidentally Friday, so it makes most sense to listen/sing along to this today.
HER 'SCREAM' CHARACTER: "I love Gale Weathers. I love her tenacity. She's just a strong-willed woman. And I think she's a little fame-hungry and power-hungry and that's why it's so fun to play her."
WHETHER SHE'S SIGNED ON FOR MORE 'SCREAM' FILMS: "I'm actually not. I mean, I can't really say, but you know [Gale] could always die and I can always come back in a dream. But if I didn't die, you know, it'll just depend on if it all comes together."
COUGAR TOWN'S UPCOMING FINALE: "We're dealing with something pretty heavy. You haven't seen it yet, but someone wants to have kids and someone doesn't. That's all I can tell you about that."
SHOOTING 10 SEASONS OF FRIENDS: "Ten's a long time, but I wish we hadn't stopped. It would've been nice to do 11 ... I was watching an episode the other and day and it still holds up! Just holds up!"
Adding a new cast member to an ensemble TV show is always a risky move, but as Modern Family heads to the end of its second successful season that's exactly what the ABC laugher is doing.
The name of the character who could completely change the chemistry of this top-notch ensemble: Bridgette.
"We're getting a French bulldog for me to hang out with," Rico Rodriguez, who plays Manny, tells TV Guide.
"She'll probably be in the last three episodes of the season and then in multiple episodes next year. She's a very good listener and has fit in very well."
Hm . . . okay. I'll take your word for it, Mr. Rodriguez. At least until Modern Family returns with new episodes and I can judge for myself.
Hey friends, I wanted to let you know about a fun event going on this weekend in Calgary -- a free screening of An Island, a collaboration between French filmmaker Vincent Moon and Danish eight-piece band Efterklang.
The unconventional music performance film came to be after Moon, who has filmed bands including Arcade Fire, Final Fantasy, and Mumford & Sons, met Efterklang on a tiny island off the Danish coast.
Over an intense period of four days Efterklang collaborated with more than 200 local musicians, kids, and their own parents, creating new performances and interpretations of songs from their album Magic Chairs.
Calgary's premiere of the movie is happening at the Plaza Theatre this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Cost is free, though you're encouraged to donate food or cash for the Calgary food bank. (C'man. You know you want to).
Prior to the feature presentation, a short selection of some of Vincent's other work will be screened.
Sounds like an ideal way to spend a Saturday afternoon to me. You might even make a new friend or two while you're there!
Sarah Silverman is a woman I love to see in the guest chair on any talk show.
The comedian is so funny and natural and says what's on her mind, to the point that the host often doesn't know how to respond.
Promoting her book, film and comedy tour on Conan Monday night, Silverman tested out some new material, spoke of her sickly dog, as well as what she thinks about celebs being paid to tweet.
. . . this ensemble that Kate Winslet wore to the New York premiere of Mildred Pierce on Monday evening?
I love me some Kate Winslet, but this sadly just isn't working for me.
The 35-year-old Oscar winner wore an assymetrical Stella McCartney long-sleeved dress, the left sleeve consisting of mesh and black polka-dots.
Something about it just isn't fitting right to me. I want it to be slightly bigger through the body, and slightly shorter above the knee to showcase the knockout that is Ms. Winslet.
Kate finished off the look with black and nude heels by Stella McCartney and a gold Calvin Klein tube clutch.
